Re: Pao Rosewood

I currently own a Pao Rosewood OM, truth be told I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between my guitar and say a BRW or EIR one, what I can say though is that its bass is quite noticeable, the only downside is that it doesn't fit quite well with my singing voice so I still prefer Mahogany ...

Bourgeois Soloist 30th Commemorative Limited Edition

Just made this post on the Boutique Guitar Forum (http://boutiqueguitarforum.freeforums.net/) - by the way, I am still having trouble accessing this site... I am based in Taiwan and have to go through a proxy:

Beautiful guitar day

Hey folks, I just got a new Bourgeois! By the way, I can't access this site from Taiwan, so I've had to come here through a proxy site... Does anyone know what's up with that? It's an OM Classic with Italian Spruce top and Pao Rosewood back and sides. Very happy with its warmth and the way the notes...

Re: How does the Soloist differ from an OMC?

Thanks Ryan. I had the opportunity to play both a Vintage OM and a Soloist (European/Ziricote) and found the Soloist to be far more open and responsive (louder, whole guitar would vibrate, more overtones) compared to the Vintage OM and thought that it may have had more heavily scalloped bracing or s...

How does the Soloist differ from an OMC?

Questions for Ryan and anyone else who may be in the know: Besides wood choices and aesthetic appointments, is there any significant difference? For example, in bracing? Is the pyramid bridge also one of the differences? Other than that, I'm not sure what other differences there are. What were the t...

Re: Humidity

I believe the guitars are built in 45% humidity conditions. There's the chance that the top can belly over time at 55~60%. I personally use Silica gel packs and Humidipaks together in the case. I don't know if taking a guitar out of the case for an hour long playing session would be considered a &qu...

What are your thoughts on the 25" SJs?

Any advice appreciated guys, there's a good deal on an SJ on AGF at the moment and I'm seriously considering it as it's likely my only chance to realistically be able to afford a Bourgeois for the time being. I've previously owned a Carmel guitar that was 25" and it sounded very full and great ...

Re: How I Came to Bourgeois

Great to see you here Ryan! If they're happy for their names and positions to be shared, it'd be cool to know who works at Bourgeois and what their roles are! It's always cool to know a little bit about the luthiers behind the guitars.
