Croatian Spruce vs German

Postby paulreso1 » Mon Feb 13, 2017 1:14 pm

Hi, I am based in the UK & interested in the bourgeois OMC model. The OMC s I can get hold of have either German Spruce or Croatian Spruce tops (both have EIR back & sides); would you expect much of a difference in sound between these woods?

thanks,

Hi Paul,

Croation is closer in response to Adirondack than German tends to be. It has more headroom than German and possibly adds more complexity as Adirondack would. German is a great Silver spruce and it usually is a nice middle-ground between Sitka and Adirondack.

I hope that helps!
