How I Came to Bourgeois

Postby BourgeoisFan » Thu Jun 12, 2014 5:00 pm

I was at the store and the sales guy put a D-150 in my hands. Braz/Adi, very nice looking wood and guitar. And then I played it. And I kept playing it. I had to go home and the next week I went back to that guitar and played and played it.
I'm hooked...

I got to play the D-150 again Saturday. It is such a fine guitar. And it is gorgeous.

I also had a chance to play a D-150. The sound was fantastic and it should only get better with time.

I'm tremendously happy to see this forum up and running, as I have long recognized a need for it. Finally, there's a place to talk about the instruments I know and love best. I have five of Dana's guitars--a Ricky Skaggs Signature model, an Adi-topped Country Boy, a Banjo Killer, and a pair of Vintage OMs. I've played and owned guitars from a number of different builders, but Dana's are the ones that speak most deeply to my own taste. Looking forward to many good conversations in the years ahead.

I got my OMC Custom from Jim at The Podium (Guitar Rodeo) last year. Jim worked out a great trade deal for me with one of my Taylor's that I had purchased previously from him. I could not be happier with the Bourgeois and I know it is my one guitar that with stay with me.

I play the NAMM #7 2007 Doc Watson replica AD/EIR that told to me to find and I did!

He told me how much he loved his in 2006 and now I have the first one made after his from 2007.

WOW :D

I was in Franklin TN on business and had a few hours to kill, so what better than to visit Artisan guitars. I played a number of instruments, but a used 00 DB signature really got me. When I got home I called to buy it, but it was sold, so I ordered a new one and waited several months. I was so happy when it arrived that I quickly ordered a custom aged tone D-150, which is the best guitar I've ever played.
